1999 yılında Huntington Beach, Kaliforniya’da kurulan Avenged Sevenfold üyeleri o dönemde hala liseye gitmekteydiler. Kısa zamanda ünleri artan, Matt Shadows (vokal), Zacky Vengeance (gitar), Synyster Gates (gitar), The Reverend (bateri) ve Johnny Christ (bass)’den oluşan grup metal ve punk sentezi tadında bir sese sahip.
İlk demoları olan Sounding The Seventh Trompet, Temmuz 2001′de piyasaya çıktı. Aradan 2 yıl sonra ise Hopeless etiketiyle Waking The Fallen ve son -----leri olan City Of Evil Haziran 2005′te, Warner Bros etiketiyle piyasa sürüldü. 2005 yazını da bu -----le beraber Warped Tour’a katılarak geçirdiler. 5 tane ----- klibe sahipler. Bunun haricinde son -----lerinden Beast & The Harlot, Blinded In Chains gibi şarkılarını bir çok oyunda dinleyebilirsiniz. (SSX: On Tour, NFS: Most Wanted)
