gpg4usb is an easy to use tool to encrypt and decrypt files or text using the Gnu Privacy Guard (GPG) encryption standard. This technology enables users to exchange information securely with someone they've never met, unlike most programs which require a communicated password. Users need only exchange their "public key" with one another in order to communicate. New users will need to generate a key, while users of other GPG software can import their existing keys.

GPG is a compatible alternative to commercial PGP. Unlike PGP, it uses fully open source code and protocols.
